Metal halide lamps emit a spectrum suited extremely well to the vegetative stage of your plants growth cycle, use these in veg to get stockier plants with shorter internodes resulting in heavier fruit setting, use through the veg period and into the start of the flowering/fruiting cycle to help reduce stretch during the inital flowering response.
