The IWS flood and drain system works by flooding all the pots up to the same level to fully saturate the growing media, it then 'sucks back' all the nutrient solution via the brain bucket to the main reservoir. You simply set the frequency and duration of the floods based on plant size and stage of growth, growing substrate being used and size of system.
The IWS basic system is a cut back version of the IWS standard system, it has a 15 minute timer attached to the brain and comes with 13mm pipework, it doesn't come with pot stands however these can be added to increase pot drainage. Great entry level IWS system that's a lot more cost effective than the standard system.
